Passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Lakeridge Health in Oshawa, on Wednesday, January 3rd, 2018 at the young age of 44, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Devoted wife of Stephen Bell for 18 years. Amazing best friend to Christina Wolla for 25 years. Survived by her father John Dorrian, sisters Mary and Tracy, brothers Stu and Fred. Predeceased by her mother Sylvia Dorrian and sister Lavinia. Loving stepmother of Adam and Kristin. Devoted gramma “Bo” of Austin, Mackenzie, Logan and Katrina. Wonderful daughter-in-law of Pauline Bell. Spectacular sister-in-law of Penny, Ron, Herb and Brenda. Belinda will be dearly missed by her nieces and nephews, her extended legion family and many friends.

Special thanks to Dr. Chang, nurse Lisa, the nursing staff on G wing overflow and the 4F palliative care nurses who treated Belinda with the utmost dignity and care that made her comfortable in her final days.

John Baxter Whitefield (Retired mechanic of General Motors, Truck Plant, Oshawa) passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 3rd, 2015 at Hillsdale Terraces surrounded by his family.

Beloved husband of Marilyn (Parkes) for 57 years.  Dear father of Barb Vaillancourt (Ken), Jill Smallwood (Dave), and P.G. Whitefield (Yanni Pigatsiotopoulos).

Loving grandfather of Julie (Kyle), Jennifer (Edward), Ryan, Matthew, Joshua (Jenny) and Ellicia and great grandfather to Madison and Edan.  Survived by his brothers George, Rob, Bill, David and Raymond.

Predeceased by brothers Sam, Tom, and Walter.  John spent his leisure time playing shuffle board, dancing, playing Euchre, managing his finances, spending time with family, and travelling the world with his wife.

He was a proud member of the Oshawa Legion.

Beloved husband of Marie Sanders. Loving father of Lyn (Bill), John, Gail (Randy), Marie (Richard), James (Mary), Robert (Maryellen).

Predeceased by his daughter Jeanette and his son Tom. Cherished grandfather to Tracey (Kelly), Angie (predeceased by Adam), Jennifer (Chris), Lisa (Aaron), Jessica (Craig), Kyle, Megan (Kayl), and “the little one” Nicole (Joe). Dear great-grandfather of Mike, Matt, Sarah, Brody, and Cohen.

Dear father of Randy Sorochan, Cheryl Barlow (Jim) and Jamie Sorochan (Pam). Cherished grandfather of Tammy (Paul), Angie (Trent), Jason (Maggie), Jennifer (Shelby), Jessica and Jacqueline. John will be lovingly remembered by his great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Predeceased by his brother George Sorochan, sister Ona Zambonelli and sister-in-law June Keenan.

A resident of Kingsway Arms, Bowmanville, formerly of Oshawa, Ross Alymer Adams, in his 93rd year, died peacefully on Saturday, January 3, 2015, at Lakeridge Health, Bowmanville.  Son of the late Zachariah and Margaret (Elford) Adams, Bowmanville, he came from pioneers who settled here from Co. Monaghan, Ireland in 1834 and was born August 26, 1922 in Haydon, Darlington Twp., Ont.  He was a veteran of the Second World War, being part of The Black Watch Regiment. While in England he met and married his late wife, the former Margaret Eva “Peggy” Alsford (2007) on August 13, 1949.  They sailed to Canada shortly afterwards and lived in Bowmanville before settling in Oshawa in 1964, where they raised their four children.  Employed by General Motors he retired in 1986.  Surviving are his four children: Gail Grant, Oshawa; Roslyn Muir, Newcastle; Terry Adams, Bowmanville and Tracy Lincmajer, Courtice; eight grandchildren: Troy Grant, Revelstoke, B.C.; Rhonda (Raymond) Buller, Oshawa; Ryan Grant (Jake Hudson), Toronto; Amanda (Adam) Millson, Pontypool; Emily Muir  (Jennifer McCall), Courtice; Matthew (Tancy) Muir, Pontypool, Christopher Lincmajer (Ashley Magee), Caesarea; and Jessica Lincmajer (Terry Dymond), Oshawa; and six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Murray (Ada) Adams, Bryce and Blaine Adams, all of Bowmanville. Predeceased by brothers, Berwin (2000), Wayburn (2003), Samuel (2009) and Garry (1956); one sister, Marguerite (2004), Mrs. Allan Beacock and one son, Larry Adams (1953).  A true family man who enjoyed the simplest and most meaningful pleasures, his proudest achievement is undoubtedly the rich legacy of love he leaves behind in those who cherish his memory. Our lives have been shaped and richened by the wealth of memories you have bestowed on each of us, and these pieces of you we hold tightly in our hearts forever.  A visitation will be held at the Morris Funeral Chapel, 4 Division St., Bowmanville on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9. A funeral service in the Morris Chapel on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at 1 p.m.  Interment Hampton Union Cemetery. Loving partner and soulmate of Cheryl for 49 years. Loving and cherished Dad of Coellen & Joe and Cami & Mark. Adored Grampa of Caly, Jacob, Matthew and William. Gary was much loved by his sister Gail, her husband Kevin and their daughter Laura. Beloved brother of Jack, his wife Donna and their children John, Michelle and Nicole; Terry, his wife Cheryl and their son Dustin. Gary will also be missed by his extended family and friends. Those who knew Gary will fondly remember him for his love of curling, golf, dedication to his family and of course, his sense of humour. It is with great sadness we annouce the passing of our Veteran and Comrade at his residence in Lucan, on Thursday, January 1, 2015. Loving husband of the late Constance Lorraine Smith (2012).

Bill dedicated his life to supporting Veterans. Most recently, he was the Chairman of the Soldiers’ Aid Commission of Ontario. He has also served as the President of Branch 540 Lucan, District Zone Commander, District A Zone Commander, Provincial President and National Poppy Chairman.

Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2015 from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, 189 Main Street, Lucan, where the memorial service will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation in memory of Bill are asked to consider the Poppy Fund of your local Legion branch.

GOODMAN, Donald PaulBorn December 29th, 1936 in Toronto, Ontario. Passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on December 13th, 2014 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa. Predeceased by his wife Colleen Anne (nee McCormick). Survived by his children; Stephen, Anne, Donald, Kathleen, Robert, and Amy, and his sister Shalagh. Proud grandfather of Shawn, Lise, Brendan, Natalie, Nicholas and Candice. Donald will also be greatly missed by his daughter-in-laws; Linda and Anita, son-in-law Dave (Anne), and half-brother Charles (Nancy).
Don served in the Military from 1956-1978, retiring as a Sergeant in the Military Police. He continued his career in security with Ontario Power Generation and the Oshawa Centre. Although his passing came quickly, he is now with our Mom which is where he wanted to be, taking long walks together like she always wanted.
A Memorial Service will take place at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME 124 King Street East, Oshawa, on Thursday December 18th at 1pm. At Lakeridge Health in Oshawa, on Thursday, September 18, 2014 at the age of 91. Beloved husband of the late Elizabeth (née Fiddes). Loving father of Michael, Marci, Andrew (Shannon), Jennifer and predeceased by Paul. Devoted grandfather to Zoe, Kelly, Natalie, Kristine (Donald), Andrew Jr, Mark, Michael, Sawyer, Marlowe, and great-grandchildren Darwin, Stella, Ethan, Owen, Ava Lynne, Abel, Tayler and Landyn. Brother of Aubrey Magee (deceased), Ellen Mongomery (deceased), Shirley Izon, Sheala Aggett and Jack Magee. Predeceased by parents William and Euna Magee. Will be fondly remembered by Mike O’Shaughnessy and his son, Zachary. Relatives and friends may pay their respects at McINTOSH-ANDERSON-KELLAM FUNERAL HOME LTD., 152 King Street East, Oshawa (905-433-5558) on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at COLONEL R.S. McLAUGHLIN ARMOURY, 53 Simcoe Street North, Oshawa, on Friday, September 26, 2014 at 1:00 pm. Interment Thornton Cemetery.
